About Our Care Home in Cwmbran

Llanyravon Court Care Home in Cwmbran accommodates up to 53 residents with nursing or residential needs. We cater for adults requiring 24 hour care and offer both long-term and short-term care solutions.

We have highly skilled Registered Nurses on site 24 hours a day. Our Management team are also supported by an excellent team of Nurse Assistants, Senior Carers, Carers, Activities Co-ordinators, Chef, Kitchen Assistants, Housekeeper, Domestic Staff, Maintenance Persons and Administrative Support.

The home enjoys a close working relationship with a multitude of health professionals and external agencies such as, GP’s, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Podiatrists, Chiropodists, Dentists, Opticians, and Specialist Nurses.

About The Home

The home is located along the river bank on Llanfrechfa Way, Llanyravon, a picturesque suburb of Cwmbran. Our gardens are well-maintained and offer a lovely retreat for residents to escape in the beautiful sunshine. Behind the home is woodland with a nearby boating lake and the local area is known as a beauty and wildlife spot.

A shopping centre is nearby and includes a post office and fish and chip shop. The local butchers and greengrocers provide us with nutritious produce from the local area.

Llaynravon Court is accessible via public transport with Cwmbran Town Centre and train station only a mile away. There is a bus stop 100 metres away from the home with transport to Newport every 10 minutes.

Our Manager and Team

Lisa Roache is a qualified Registered Nurse and Registered Manager at Llanyravon Court. Lisa joined Llanyravon Court as the Clinical Manager in April 2020 before being promoted to Registered Manager in 2021. Lisa is also working towards NVQ Level 5.

Courtney Clayton is the deputy manager and joined Llanyravon Court as a Senior Carer in July 2020. Courtney transferred from one of our sister homes within the Golden Care Group and has progressed into the Deputy Manager role. Courtney is also progressing in her NVQ level 3 Health & Social care studies.

Activities & Wellbeing

At Llanyravon Court Care Home in Cwmbran we pride ourselves on offering a wide range of activities for mind, body and soul. Our dedicated activity team provide lots of stimulus for residents living in the home. Our daily program is filled with activities such as arts and crafts, baking, bingo, karaoke and chair aerobics. There are also relaxing actives such as one to one conversation, book clubs and gardening. Each month our team compose a new plan based on the needs, wishes and preferences of our residents.

Our Christmas & Summer parties are a special highlight of the year, especially because residents, relatives, colleagues, and friends gather together in celebration. These events draw people together and remain a talking point throughout the year.

We love to include relatives and friends in our activities and often use FaceTime & Video to help promote contact with family and friends who aren’t able to visit. Connecting family and friends always brings a welcome smile!

Digital Care Logs

At Llanyravon Court, we’re committed to making sure each resident receives the right kind of care at the right time, that’s we have use a specialist digital care planning system called Nourish.

Our care team use Smart Handheld Devices to log food and fluid intake, pressure relief, weights, and much more. The detailed digital records help us monitor potential easily warning signs, and us make sure residents are receiving all the nutrition care they need to thrive.

Resident’s Care Plans can also be viewed by selected family and friends via our Residents Portal. Simply log in via an internet browser and stay up to dated with your loved ones care package and interactions.

Specialist Equipment

Within the home, we have ceiling hoists in several of our bedrooms. We also have them in communal areas. These are for residents that need support transferring from one setting to another. Alongside this, we do have extra mobility aids. We use these to support everyone based on their needs.

A new call bell system supplied by Courtney Thorne has recently been installed within the home. It is accessible to all residents and staff. It has distinct sounds to differentiate assistance and emergency calls. The call bell system enables us to locate the alarm and ensures fast reactions to all that need our help.

Working In Partnership

At Llanyravon we work in strong connection with many partners. These include our local health board, local authority and CIW. Ensuring the health & well-being of the individuals that reside with us is our priority. As part of our activities programme, we have developed relationships with local schools. They visit our residents from time to time, taking part in activities bringing a smile to the young at heart.

Our Rooms

Llanyravon Court has 52 aesthetically pleasing rooms that range from £850 – £1000 per week. Rooms are priced dependent on size & facilities such as ensuite bathrooms.

We aim to make everyone’s room as homely as possible and encourage residents to dress their room with photographs, artwork, and décor to bring a homely experience to their surroundings.
