New recruit making a big difference!

Crick Nursing Home in Caldicot has seen Stacey begin her first full month as Activities Coordinator.  Stacey has already made a huge impact on the mental well-being of our Residents. Stacey is great at encouraging them to join in with things they perhaps were not keen on joining in with before! We can’t wait to see what she has in store!

Church Services and Holy Communion back at Crick Nursing Home in Caldicot

During July we welcomed back the local Rev John Waters for Church services and Holy Communion. Many of our Residents felt like we welcomed back a small part of normality. We were so pleased to see him and grateful, especially Joy and Margaret.

The opening of the Olympics marked at Crick

Stacey has encouraged arts and crafts during her group activities sessions this month. Residents made fans during the heatwave and painted and completed activity booklets from the grab and go table. A few of the Residents made Olympic torches for our tea party to celebrate the start of Olympics 2021. Maria particularly enjoyed making these.

Pamper Sessions at Crick

Karin, our lovely hairdresser, has continued to visit weekly. Edna very much enjoyed having a pamper session and felt like a new lady afterwards.

Activities galore at Crick Nursing Home in Caldicot

Stacey’s group activities included film afternoons with popcorn and refreshments, playing on the Wii. Bowling has become a firm favourite with many Residents particularly, Neil. Neil is very competitive! We have listened to music and played musical instruments with Dorothy. Dorothy is a very talented pianist and enjoys playing a tune or two when she has the chance.

Glorious Sunshine at Crick Nursing Home in Caldicot

During the hot weather, residents cut-up fresh fruit and made a summer fruit punch which they all loved. Hopefully, we have some more hot weather so we can make another punch! As the weather has been so good, we have also spent plenty of time in the garden, planting flowers and some yummy vegetables. Hopefully, they grow successfully so that Dave our Cook can use them to make a delicious meal!

Later in the month, we had a tea party with lots of fresh cakes, scones and strawberries.
