Salary: £8.24 /hour
To be responsible (under the supervision of the night nurse) in meeting the personal and health care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity of the individual and promotes independence. This will involve safe manual handling practices.
To assist residents who need help with their personal toilet including bathing, washing and all aspects of their personal hygiene.
To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through talking to them or reading to them.
To help residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; to help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
To notify the night nurse immediately of any matter vitally affecting the well-being of residents and the Home.
To make and change beds, empty commodes and deal with soiled linen and clothing.
To carry out hourly safety checks.
To prepare simple food and drinks and where necessary assist or feed residents who need help.
To answer emergency bells, the front door and the telephone and to greet visitors.
To assist, dress or change clothing of residents where necessary.
